Music is like distilled emotion. Second only to smell in its power to transport you instantaneously to another place and time without you agreeing to go along.

A little old school, a little new school… *Enjoy the Egyptian Lover clip, it’s chock full of big 80’s hair and jeri curl juice… The cheesy awesomeness of this video is something to behold.

I’ve decided to dedicate the next few posts to songs that I enjoy dancing to in the privacy of my own bedroom or closet.
First up, Morphine with Super Sex from the Album “Yes”. This band has such a gritty, sexy sound. Their songs make me feel like I’m drinking in a dirty, dark little bar on a Monday afternoon around noon…
Morphine – Super Sex
Next up, INXS with Devil Inside. This gem from February 1988 features a nice juicy riff that you can get your sexy on to. Enjoy.

Roberta Flack has such a sultry voice. This song was the number one song the year that I was born… and it still holds up.
(I always think of the movie “Play Misty For Me” when I hear this song.) I have to say that Clint Eastwood was pretty darn sexy in that film.

I love Paul’s sweet “silly love songs” but John’s bittersweet odes to love lost and love gone wrong always get to me. This is one of my favorites.

Holy crap, I have bad taste in music. I owned this 12″ and played it over and over. Of course I was in the throes of puberty and may not have been fully able to comprehend the fact that this was truly a very bad song. Oh who am I kidding? There’s just no excuse for this…
